CGIT: Compressed Gas Insulated Transmission
Compact Design. High current capacity. Minimal power loss. Flexible, low cost installation. As many advantages as a CGIT bus system provides, there is an equal number of applications for its use.
As the only North American manufacturer of SF6 gas insulated transmission bus systems for use in high voltage transmission and substation applications, CGIT Systems provides a compact, economical and reliable alternative to conventional cable systems and overhead lines.
Whether you are having trouble connecting your power plant to the transmission grid, have space limitations that precludes the use of overhead lines or need an innovative line crossing solution, CGIT’s decades of experience can work for you.
CGIT manufactures compressed gas insulated transmission bus systems, type CGIT (also known as GIL or GIB) which provide a compact, reliable and economical alternative to conventional cable systems and overhead lines for power transmission. Our major customers include electrical utilities, GIS equipment manufactures, independent power producers and design/construction firms.
The effective electrical and magnetic shielding afforded through the CGIT design allows for minimized right-of-way requirements as well as safer environmental conditions. Standard CGIT systems are suitable for voltages from 115kV to 1200kV with current ratings as high as 8000 amperes.
CGIT provides testing services for a broad scope of applications, including gas insulated substations, gas insulated transmission lines, air insulated substations, XLPE and HPFF cable systems.
