Once the metal is cleaned, treated, and painted, the strip is rewound into a coil size prescribed by the customer. From there, the coil is removed from the line and packaged for shipment or additional processing.
After the primer is applied and cured, then the metal strip enters the finish coat station where a topcoat is applied. Topcoats provide color, corrosion resistance, durability, flexibility and any other required physical properties. Like primers, the topcoat is cured using thermal cure ovens.
Oven
Coil coating ovens can range from 130 feet to 160 feet and will cure the coatings in 13 to 20 seconds.
During this stage, the strip enters the prime coat station whereby a primer is applied to the clean and treated metal. After the primer is applied, the metal strip travels through a thermal oven for curing. Primers are used to aid in paint adhesion, improve corrosion performance and enhance aesthetic and functional attributes of the topcoat.
S Wrap Coater
The S wrap coater design allows for primers and paints to be applied to the top and back side of the metal strip simultaneously in one continuous pass.
The cleaning and pretreating section of the coil coating process focuses on preparing the metal for painting. During the cleaning stage, dirt, debris, and oils are removed from the metal strip. From there, the metal enters the pretreatment section and/or a chemical coater whereby chemicals are applied to facilitate paint adhesion and enhance corrosion resistance.
Dried-In-Place
In this stage a chemical that provides enhanced corrosion performance is applied. This treatment can be chrome free if required.
The accumulator is a structure that adjusts up and down to store material, which makes continuous operation of the coil coating process possible. This accumulation will continue to feed the coil coating processes while the entry end has stopped for the stitching process. As much as 750 feet of metal can be collected.
Since its establishment in 1993, Lunmar Boat Lifts has been a trusted provider of high-quality boat lift solutions for fresh, brackish, and saltwater environments. Its commitment to excellence is reflected in the choice of a galvanized finish for all lift components, offering unparalleled protection against corrosion and ensuring a longer service life.
This innovative approach not only reduces maintenance costs but also enhances safety by preventing structural failures caused by rust. Today, Lunmar’s products are relied upon along Gulf Coast waterways and marinas worldwide.
Marine environments present unique challenges, with exposure to harsh elements above and below the waterline. Constant contact with moisture and fluctuating temperatures accelerates the potential for rust and corrosion, compromising the safety and durability of boat lift systems. Additionally, customers require solutions that enhance safety during watercraft access and use while offering a low-maintenance, long-lasting design.
Lunmar addresses these challenges through the design and manufacture of piling mount boat lift systems with a hot-dip galvanized finish. This protective coating creates a strong, anti-corrosive barrier that stands the test of time, even in the most demanding conditions. From cradle kits to low-profile solutions and sling kits, these galvanized lifts ensure reliable and safe watercraft storage and handling for a wide range of vessel sizes and types.
The piling mount lift systems are engineered for both durability and performance. The product lineup includes cradle kits with capacities ranging from 4,200 lbs to 10,000 lbs, featuring galvanized cradle beams, stainless steel cables, and piling mount brackets to ensure strength and stability. Low Profile Cradle Kits are designed for height-restricted environments, offering the same reliability while maintaining a streamlined, unobtrusive design. Sling Kits utilize weighted nylon slings to provide a flexible solution for lifting and securing watercraft, while specialized lifts such as the MiniMag 2800# and Magnum Side Mount Lifts cater to unique needs, such as narrow canals or smaller vessels, offering high-quality construction and ease of use.
The galvanized finish provides not only protection but also peace of mind, allowing customers to enjoy safer access to their watercraft with reduced risk of structural failure. The range of products includes not only boat lift components but also dock and gangway elements, delivering a comprehensive solution for marine infrastructure.
Lunmar’s piling mount boat lifts have earned a reputation for reliability and safety, becoming a preferred choice for customers worldwide. Their durable, low-maintenance design minimizes long-term costs while ensuring the integrity of critical components in challenging marine environments. With a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, Lunmar continues to set the standard for watercraft storage and handling solutions.
By leveraging the benefits of galvanized finishes, Lunmar has created a product line that withstands the rigors of marine exposure while addressing customer needs for durability, safety, and convenience. Whether along the Gulf Coast or in marinas around the world, these lifts deliver unmatched performance, making them an essential part of any watercraft owner’s experience.
